“We manage a very large number of SKUs and catalogues, and imagery is central to everything we do. WizStudio helps us scale feature imagery without adding time or cost.”
Ganz is a multi-brand wholesale company spanning gift, home décor, baby, plush, apparel, and licensed collections. With numerous catalogues released every year and thousands of SKUs under management, imagery plays a critical role across product development, sales, and marketing.
The company operates a fully equipped in-house photo studio with an on-set stylist, two photographers, and freelance support when needed. While this setup enables high-quality photography, it also introduces cost, time, and capacity constraints when scaled across such a broad portfolio of brands.
The challenge
High-quality imagery at scale came with rising cost and limited flexibility
Even with an in-house studio, producing feature imagery at scale was expensive and time-intensive. Each catalogue was assigned a fixed quota of styled feature shots to control costs, limiting how much visual support Product Development teams could receive.
The process was even more complex for apparel. Due to budget constraints, Ganz typically worked with only one or two agency models per seasonal catalogue, along with a makeup artist, which restricted creative flexibility.
Timing was another challenge. When teams traveled overseas on buying trips, new products and last-minute finds often surfaced too late to fit into traditional photoshoot schedules. Vendor images or quick phone photos lacked the polish needed for catalogues or social media.
While the team explored alternatives, including extensive testing with Photoshop’s Generative AI over an 18-month period, the tools fell short on speed, quality, and ease of use.
“Photoshoots are expensive, especially when you factor in props, styling, models, and the volume of requests coming from our product teams.”
The turning point
Adding an always-on AI studio to complement in-house photography
Ganz adopted WizStudio – AI lifestyle image generator to extend its imagery capabilities without replacing its in-house studio. Instead of choosing between traditional photography and AI, the team found a way to use both where they made the most sense.
WizStudio allowed the team to generate feature imagery directly from quick phone photos, vendor images, or simple inputs. When product teams were traveling overseas, they could send images immediately and have them enhanced for catalogues or social media without waiting for samples or studio availability.
Compared to Photoshop’s Generative AI, WizStudio stood out for its speed, accuracy, and image quality. The platform made it easy for the marketing team to pivot quickly, experiment with backgrounds, and produce consistent visuals across brands.
Entire catalogues were created using AI-generated backgrounds. Feature imagery was also incorporated throughout Home Décor collections.
Over time, the team created more than 500 feature images using WizStudio, all optimized for high-resolution viewing. Since Ganz distributes catalogues on iPads rather than print, 4K imagery was essential to ensure clarity when users pinch to zoom. WizStudio delivered the scale and detail required without compromising visual quality.
The result was a full image tray ready for catalogues, sales presentations, and digital channels, without the delays or costs associated with traditional shoots.
“We tested Photoshop’s Generative AI extensively, but WizStudio was far superior in speed, accuracy, quality, and ease of use. WizStudio lets us elevate product imagery quickly and confidently, even when we’re working with last-minute buys or vendor images.”
Results
More imagery, faster execution, and meaningful cost savings
With WizStudio in place, Ganz significantly expanded the volume of feature imagery available to Product Development and Marketing teams. Catalogues gained greater visual richness without being constrained by photoshoot quotas.
Time to market improved, especially for last-minute additions and overseas sourcing. Costs were reduced by limiting the need for additional shoots, external agencies, and complex styling setups.
Most importantly, WizStudio integrated seamlessly into Ganz’s existing workflow. The company continues to use both its in-house studio and WizStudio, choosing the right tool for each scenario to produce the best possible imagery at scale.
“It’s not one or the other. WizStudio and our in-house studio work together to help us produce the best imagery possible.”
